The Membrane Filtration Operations & Optimization course is an advanced water treatment training course focused on the operation, protection, troubleshooting, and performance optimization of membrane filtration systems used in drinking water treatment.

This water operator course covers membrane filtration fundamentals and operating principles, membrane reliability and performance, cost-effective operation, fouling control, and the latest developments in membrane treatment technologies. Participants also explore operational challenges related to climate change, including floods, wildfires, and source water changes, as well as emerging contaminants such as PFAS, microplastics, and nanoplastics.

The course combines scientific principles with practical operating experience, real-world case studies, interactive questions, and discussions. It is designed for drinking water operators, operations supervisors, municipal water managers, membrane plant operators, process engineers, consulting engineers, utility professionals, and environmental regulators.

The course is approved by the Ontario Ministry of the Environment for 0.7 CEUs under Ontario Regulation 128/04. It is delivered through live instructor-led virtual or classroom sessions and includes a Certificate of Completion. Customized on-site and private virtual training is also available for municipalities, utilities, and water facilities.
